StopTech Stainless Steel Brake Lines
StopTech stainless steel brake lines improve pedal feel and reduce the amount of time between applied pedal pressure and actual deceleration by preventing expansion, which stock rubber flex lines allow. This provides a quicker pedal response, and allows the driver to maintain consistent brake pressure and precision brake modulation.
StopTech brake lines consist of a Teflon® inner line that is covered with a layer of stainless steel woven braid. The Teflon tube is very resistant to expansion under pressure and will not degrade from exposure to brake fluid. The stainless steel braid provides support for the Teflon and the weave is extremely durable against incidental impact and abrasion. StopTech brake lines feature a Clear Abrasion Resistant Cover for maximum protection against chaffing.
All StopTech Stainless Steel Brake Lines are DOT (United States Department of Transportation) compliant and 100% tested to a pressure of 4500 psi.
About StopTech:
StopTech was founded in March of 1999 with a
singular mission: Become the leading manufacturer
and supplier of high-performance brake
components and systems. United by their passion
for racing and high-performance vehicles,
the founding staff sought to challenge the status
quo in brake technology and set new paradigms
for brake upgrades. In service of this mission,
and as a direct result of the company's ongoing
brake research, StopTech has received three
patents in brake technology and has one patent
pending.
StopTech is the first brake upgrade manufacturer to build its business around the concept of Balanced Brake Upgrades® for
stock and production racecars running a single master cylinder, and was the first to use track testing as an integral part of
its application development process. Prior to the inception of StopTech, brake upgrade manufacturers used what they had
in their parts bins to build brake upgrades. These early brake upgrades were often too front-biased, causing "upgraded"
vehicles to perform worse than their stock counterparts in stopping distance tests. StopTech was the first aftermarket brake
upgrade company to design and manufacture balanced front brake upgrades to improve all aspects of performance, while
maintaining compatibility with the original equipment (OE) rear brakes. StopTech prides itself in maintaining compatibility
with all onboard vehicle dynamic control systems, such as ABS, stability control, traction control, and dynamic rear proportioning
systems. The same principles of balance and compatibility are applied to the company's four-wheel brake upgrade
kits. StopTech achieves the technically ideal balance by engineering brake systems with proper front-to-rear brake bias on
a per-platform basis. Other StopTech performance paradigms include caliper stiffness, rotor cooling and durability, and
OE-like serviceability.
With approximately 450 big brake kit applications and dealers in 27 countries, StopTech is now the worldwide leader in
Balanced Brake Upgrades for production cars. Illustrating this point, StopTech-equipped cars consistently win braking contests
performed by independent publications, such as Car and Driver and Sport Compact Car. The StopTech-equipped
Turner Motorsport BMW driven by Bill Auberlen won the 2004 SPEED World Challenge® Touring Car series championship.
This was followed up in 2005 with StopTech's racing partners claiming six poles, four wins and 11 podium finishes in
Touring Car. In Grand-Am® Cup Grand Sport class in 2005, StopTech-equipped cars won six of eleven races. StopTechsupported
professional race victories have been achieved with the same products sold to the public.
StopTech's ST-40 and ST-60 calipers are manufactured using a squeeze-forging process, and StopTech ST-22 calipers are
forged in Southern California. StopTech's AeroRotors are manufactured from cast iron that has been shown to meet the
highest standards for crack resistance. Side-by-side testing has shown StopTech AeroRotors to be approximately twice as
crack-resistant as a leading competitor's rotor. All finish machining of calipers, as well as machining of hats and brackets
from billet, is carried out at StopTech's headquarters in Southern California, using the latest CNC equipment.
StopTech products meet all applicable standards for quality and performance worldwide. StopTech has received the prestigious
TÜV approval in Germany for a number of its products. StopTech has also been selected as a brake system supplier
by major OE aftermarket divisions and tuners operating as vehicle constructors, meeting U.S. FMVSS and DOT standards.
StopTech Balanced Brake Upgrades deliver the highest quality and best performance for your vehicle.
