Information on Alpina:
Alpina Burkard Bovenspiepen GmbH + Co. is located in Alpenstrasse 35-37, D-86807 Buchloe, Germany. In 1961 Burkard Bovensiepen, son of Dr. Rudolf Bovensiepen, founder of Alpina office machines, started his automotive activities with the development of a Weber dual caburettor for the new BMW 1500. In 1964, the engines with Alpina dual caburettor devices (produced by the young business and engineering student in his father's factory) find broad acceptance not only in the press; BMW and the legendary Paul G. Hahnemann, too, confirm the high quality of Alpina products. BMW vehicles with Alpina engineering maintain the entire company warranty. The foundation of Burkard Bovensiepen KG took place on January 1st, 1965, in Kaufbeuren with eight employees. In 1983 Alpina was officially registered as an automobile manufacturer by the German Federal Motor Vehicle Registration Agency.
