Default The Latest VF Supercharger info

VF Engineering is one of the few on hands supercharging tuning companies. Their kits are 100% their own. From mock up, turining, to final product, VF does it all.

BeastPower is a VF authorized dealer. We are helping VF to bring more BMW S/C kits to the market. VF needs cars to mock up their supercharger kits. The list below is which cars VF is looking for. If you provide your vehicle, you will get a kit installed for free, and a very very generous price on the kit.

Please email beastpower@beastpower.com if you have one of the cars listed below and have the means to transport to So Calif. Transportation costs will not be reimbursed by VF or BeastPower.

We need your full name, year, make, model of your vehicle that you can provide, contact phone numbers, and your email address.

Please keep in mind that depending on complexity of the S/C kit being developed, your car must be at VF for a lengthy time period. VF can give you the best time estimate, but assume at least 1.5-2 months minimum.

FYI - E39 M5 is in development starting in 1-2 weeks. E39 97-03 540i is complete. 645 is complete. E46 M3 is complete. E36 M3 is complete.

Here is list:

E90 (new) 3 series
E60 545
Z3 2.5L (MT)
Z4 2.5L (MT)
Z8
X3 2.5 & 3.0
X5 3.0 & 4.4
X5 4.6is
X5 4.8is
E38 740i
E36 323
E36 328
E46 323 (manual preferred)
E46 325 (manual preferred)
E39 530 (525, 528 are acceptable)
Lambo. Gallardo

Our 00 E39 M5 will be dropped off at VF Engineering tomorrow for Supercharger kit development. We will keep everyone posted on this new product and its development.

I can tell everyone for sure it will be a very competiviely priced kit, where all M5 owners can have a nice reliable and affordable kit for themselves. It will not be out of any M5 owners reach, no matter their income bracket.

Stay Tuned!

I might as well make this a play by play thread.

Gorilla Beast M5 is now in the hands of VF Engineering. Mock up is beginning immediately. Nik (owner of VF) is a great guy who really knows his stuff. As I was there, they showed me the supercharged 540i and Supercharged 996 owned by the Iforged guys. (In fact the owner of Iforged was there, Vince is a nice guy.) They were picking up their cars. I saw the 540 scream down the street, it was amazing. Dynoed reliable daily driver with 410 HP!!!.

The M5 kit will be incredible I cannot wait.

They also had in house a supercharged E39 530i they were finishing up on. They had numerous BMW's either pending mock up or finishing up. VF will have a very nice lineup in the very near future, yes indeed.

Probably the best news I heard, is that VF is seeking CARB approval for all their new BMW kits which will make them street legal. I hope we all can support them.

As I was getting high off all the superb eye candy on these awesome machines, I totally forgot to take pics. I need to go back in a couple days and will snap some pics with VF's permission.

If allowed I will try to go back to VF once a week and post up pics of the progress.

You mean I could have dropped off my 2000 M5 and got free install, and a marked down S/C kit??? Man, I cant win for loosing, just my luck. Well, if the kit is affordable to even us broke, M5 owners....lol then its worth the wait. How does the kit install fair with the BMW service warranty? Good luck on the testing, and tuning, and if you need further assistance, please feel free to email me. I'll be checking back on this thread for the progress, and I here you get alot of money for donating blood......hmmmm....lol

Default Re: The Latest VF Supercharger info

Went to VF yesterday and took some spy shots. Jeff from VF gave me some quick facts while I snapped some pics.

VF has fabricated and fitted kits for ALL the E39 5 Series. All the factory ECU changes. All Auto trans and Man. Trans. Basically the M5 is actually the last kit for E39 that is not yet almost completed. VF has had close to 30 different E39 5 Series in the shop to make sure they have covered all the minor factory changes.

There is a extremely nice 645 there with Hamann kit, HRE's, Brembos, the works. I did not take pics since the kit was pulled off the car. This car is extremely fast according to VF. It pulls nicely. VF is also making a kit for the new 7 Series. Basically all the late model BMW's; VF will have an application for customers.

Jeff showed me the dyno sheets for the 530i (see pics). Baseline was 200HP to wheels. One of the best runs saw 295 WHP. Keep in mind this car is not 100% tuned. ( I know proof is in me scanning a copy of the sheet and posting, trust me its the real deal)

All the BMW VF kits are seeking CARB approval for 50 state emissions. This means street legal kits if they are approved and VF is very confident about this.

All of VF's supecharger components are either fabricated and produced in house (they have their own machines), and if not made in house the components are from local vendors in So. Calif.
For the regular customer on the street, this means no down time waiting for parts to come in from overseas. If there is a warranty issue, its gets handled extremely fast. There is no supply problems and hardly any back orders. This means BeastPower will be stocking VF's kits ready to ship, and BeastPower customers will not have long wait times. (For those of us who buy AC Schnitzer, Eisenmann/Kelleners, we all know about waiting sometimes.)

I dont want to quote any prices yet, however Jeff and Nik have both given me an idea of the price ranges for a few of their kits, and let me tell you all this, it is a very generous and realistic price for all BMW owners no matter your income level.

Nik and Jeff are very busy at VF, and therefore cannot post up much on forums these days. I can try to relay questions and get them answered if anyone prefers. You can email myself at brent@beastpower.com or Daniel at beastpower@beastpower.com

Stay tuned for more pics and updates!

My car was dynoed recently at VF 320 WHP, with SES light on due to having a slight exhaust leak which should not really affect this number IMO. My car is a 2000 M5 and has about 75K miles on it.

Getting within 25whp is pretty good! Hope I can get one some day.

Gotta make it handle and stop first.

Spy shots of Gorilla Beast M5. Keep in mind they just started work on it less than a week ago.

Here is some new info according to VF.

1. The M5 bolt on kit should good for at least 100-140 HP.

2. Even though there is no official MSRP set, VF says $12,500 is the maximum MSRP. They hope to try to get MSRP cost lower but they say for sure it will not be more than $12.5K for the complete bolt on kit.

3. VF's goal is to eventually have 50 state legal S/C kits for all late model BMW including the X series.

4. BeastPower is authorized distributer for VF S/C kits and will be stocking all 5 series kits once ready for sale.

5. While the vehicle is at VF we are working with them to develop a new true cold air intake system with a realistic price for all M5 owners. The intake kit will be a bolt on kit for naturally aspirated E39 M5's.

Ill stop back in a week or so and see what is new.

Enjoy.

The VF supercharger for the 540i (e39) is ready. VF currently has 5 kits ready to go, however they are installing them all on cars at their Southern California facility. VF says kits for shipping out will be ready in about 3-4 weeks. They say the main reason for this, is that they do not have instructions ready yet, and want everything to be perfect.

The price for a kit is $5,995. This 540i (e39) kit provides 410-415 HP at 6psi boost.

Please contact us at beastpower@beastpower.com for more information and/or to order.

Cheers, Daniel.

Default Re: The Latest VF Supercharger info

Here is some answers to some questions:

VF is contemplating a higher boost kit which would be 2psi more, making it an 8psi kit, but nothing is certain and again they are "contemplating" making a kit. Daily driveability, & reliability / safety concerns are part of the factor of them making a high boost kit. VF says that with a higher boost kit the intake temps are much higher, and it causes the ECU to ****** timing and say customers may actually lose power. Not too mention names, but they have seen this happen on other S/C kits and are a bit reluctant to offer a kit which will cost more money for a customer and only yield maybe 30HP more.

VF says if they do make a high boost kit it will be after their BMW application line up is completed. If they do offer a high boost kit I would not expect it for a long while.

The current kit gives the 540i "M5 like" characteristics and if feels just as if not more powerful than a M5 at low rpms. The car absolutely flys!

The current kit is fine for 91 or 93 octane cars. 93 octane owners will see about 5-6 more HP gain, and the car will be a bit more responsive due to the higher octane. The GIAC produced software automatically adapts to 93 octane fuel. European spec kits are not yet available if anyone may be wondering.

VF also has authorized installers in other states so you can let BeastPower know if you need installation and we can try to accomadate any customers. Cars can be also be sent to SoCal for installation and dyno tuning at VF facility.

Couldnt find them at BeastPower, the wheel cap on it isnt the same as the DPE's.

GorillaBeast might have a clue, or might have a closeup shot of them, since he's the one who've been there.

Cheers
