Default 2000 M5 brake and ABS light

hey there,
my brake and abs lights have been turning off and on. When I get in and start up no lights but after driving a bit they come on and also disengage the DSC as that light comes on and I cannot turn it off unless I turn off the car. Any thoughts or ideas on what is going on and what to do about it BESIDES taking it to my local authorized BMW dealership???
thanks in advance for any help or suggestions

Sounds like a wheel speed sensor? check that first... or your ASC module or ABS control unit. I had the same problem BMW made an updated wheel speed sensor for that problem.

almost sure its the abs module.iff it was the abs sensor it would work or not work..nothing in the middle..

most off the time iff you read out the fault codes and the abs module is shot it will give a right front abs sensor broken,or a no signal wheelsensor code.

you can allways order a new sensor and try it out but my guess its the module it self.

try to find a second hand one on a salvage yard

in these cars they use the same module as on the m5 e39

everything from after 09/98

e39- 528i,528i wagon,525i,525i wagon,530i,540i,m5,
e38- 740i iL,750iL

and after you install a new one you allways have to go to a dealer to recode your abs/dsc module.

hope it works out for you
