Default See BMW short films before 10/21

It caused a worldwide sensation… and it’s about to end.Be sure to log on to bmwfilms.com before October 21 to view The Hire – BMW’s smash-hit short film series.
After four thrilling years, BMW Films’ award-winning on-line film series, The Hire, will take its final bow that day.

The sometimes touching, sometimes funny, and always exciting twists of The Hire have attracted over 100 million views. In a powerful turn that reflects the performance of a BMW itself, Clive Owen (star of Closer, Croupier, Sin City, King Arthur and Gosford Park) plays a mysterious driver hired for his sharp driving skills and unswerving cool. Each film presents a fierce new challenge to the driver’s talents.

Directed by filmmakers hailed for such classics as Seven, Face/Off, Top Gun, and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and starring some of today’s hottest talents, The Hire breaks ground in style while blanketing the viewer in fast-paced suspense. The BMW Films site also features cool extras, including cast interviews, making-of documentaries, and more.

In 2002, The Hire was awarded the Cannes International Advertising Festival’s Cyber Lion Grand Prix prize.
The series was inducted into the permanent collection of New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Additional accolades include WIRED magazine’s 2001 “Best Excuse for Broadband” award; and, in 2002, John Woo’s episode, “Hostage,” won the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival’s “Best Action Short” award.

Yes, they are captioned.

If you crete an account on BMW Owners Circle, they will send it to you free (you just pay S&H).

Regardless of the free DVD, I encourage you to create your personal profile at BMW OC, so you can see the maintaince intervals and exactly what is needed for your BMW according to the manufacturer's recommendation (e.g. Inspection I, II, etc.).

Been there, done that, I found the information still wanting for more, like, how many miles til each service? I've driven over 10k miles in mostly stop and go traffic and my service lights have yet to come on.

All that information couldn't tell me something simple, like if I have Adaptive Headlights (the Xenons do swivel up when I turn them on, making me assume the answer is "Yes.")

I'll go see if I can figure out how to get the DVD.

Thanks!
J

Agree, the BMW Owners Circle website gives you just a high level view of the type of services you will need once you reach a certain odometer range. Inspection I and II is actually very detailed, so if you plan on having any one of these done at the dealer, I think it is a good idea to print it out and make sure they literally check every single item listed (including seemingly little things as the Battery test check).

As far as the Adaptive Headlights, it seems this definition has changed a bit with the new generation of bi-xenons. Now BMW calls Adaptive headlight the bi-xenons that actually turn upto 15% in tune with the direction of your steering wheel, so based on that definition, no you don't have the Adaptive Headlights. But you do have the second generation xenons that actually will factor in passenger and cargo load and adjust themselves up/down accordingly.

Cheers
