Iginition Solutions does not exist anymore as a company. The Ignition Solutions product line was purchased by a Japanese company called Okada Projects (OKD). The coils will probably keep the "Ignition Solutions" brand name in conjuction with the "OKD" brand. The plasma coils are essentially the same as before, except that they no longer have the indicator LED, and all coils come from Japan. Okada Projects has a US office in Southern California, and is top notch.

Cheers, Daniel.

There should be a way to check, but you will probably have to visit a garage.

Cheers, Daniel.

I am sure there aren't any left. There should be a simple method of checking if a coil is defective or not. Maybe someone else on this messageboard will know.

Cheers, Daniel.

By the way, I have asked OKD this question, and will let you know what they say.

Cheers, Daniel.

I really don't know. Maybe it wasn't working as they had hoped it would. I can't think of any other reason.

Cheers, Daniel.

The following is what OKD suggested.

To check a coil, the following method is easy and works:
  1. Turn on the engine, then pay attention to the engine's vibration and sound.
  2. Keeping the engine running, disconnect one coil connector from the coil.
  3. If this results in no engine vibration and no sound change, then the coil is not working, it is defective.
  4. If the engine's vibration gets rough and the sound deteriorates after disconnecting the coil connector, then this coil is working, and is not defective.
  5. Repeat this until all of the coils have been tested.
The roughness of the vibration and the sound imply that the coil is good. No changes in the vibration and sound imply that the coil is defective.

Cheers, Daniel.
