I haven't heard much about these, but I wouldn't expect much in terms of gains. It must either have break points in the tubing for the MAFS housings, or a welded on side connector for the MAFS to plug into. Your car cannot drive properly without a MAFS, as the ECU would not be getting any data regarding the rate of flow of air coming into the engine, and would not get any data on the temperature of this air. Without this data, the ECU cannot determine correct air/fuel ratios, which is not what you want.

Cheers, Daniel.

i know i have seen that also. but maeby you have too put on your own mafs with pipehousing in it and are the pipes on the picture for an example too see the whole system. i was just wondering because they use the oem box and show 10 hp on a dynoscheet with an atractive pricing.i presume that they wouldent sell something thats not working properly. but all for all im gone stay with my gruppe m kevlar's they look nicer. hope the mafs hold on for this time .

The GruppeM is the best-looking CAI. If you want an improvement, I recommend purchasing the Active Autowerke CAI and using it together with your GruppeM CAI. The AA CAI can funnel cool outside air towards your GruppeM filters much more effectively than the OEM piping. You also gain brake cooling ducts, and a nice-looking front grille.

Others have this double GruppeM/AA CAI already installed, so you would not be the first.

Cheers, Daniel.

Dynoed 1/29/05 @ Intec Racing = 252.2HP@5800 - 257.7TQ@4000 - This is the best result of 3 runs before I realized the throttle cable bracket broke loose after pulling off the dyno w/ no power. Torque is lower than stock, so these reading WILL be higher!!

M4 full exhuast, K&N filter, Yoshimura box reprogram, gutted airbox, ditched ALL emissions items, timing ****** eliminator, Michelin Pilot Sport tires(super sticky) reduced to 180 rear for easier turning
Dynoed 5/16/04 @ Lynnwood Cycle Barn = 115.4HP@120MPH and on to 193MPH!!

yep yep i saw it but loose the s . lol
too bad there is no pic off the evo cai system. pricing is good i think but would it work good too ???less is not always better. but if you say thats its the same like the dinan its gone be money well spend i think .

if the afe system have a maff input than i think thats the cai thats performs best because its a closed air circuit using the original underhalf of the airbox so hot air dosent come in the engine
that with the aa cai mmm. a second thing on the afe cai is that i saw was that you get 4 air filters , so i presume that those arent oild and must be replaced every time. oke its an expense but cheaper than a couple off mafs i think . but like you say 280$$ for a cai is tempting .

Just my opinion, but a cold air intake isn't brain science.....correct size tubing, get the filter outta the engine bay so it doesn't such up warm air, and enjoy the extra sounds and maybe the few horses you get also. Extreme engineering is for software and hardware items like an S/C....this is simply a tube with two bends and a filter on the end - sounds easy enough
