Default Newbie, E 39 concerns

This is my first BMW and I'm having few concerns:
1. I'm getting a wind noise when I turn the steering wheel left or right.
2. A little vibration on the steering wheel when I get to around 50-60 mph.
3. Vibration on the car when coming to a stop at high speed (60+ mph)
4. Lastly, when driving real slow (1-10 mph) I'm getting a scheeching sound. I took the tire out expecting to see no brake pads whatsoever but that's not the case. It seem like the clip is grinding against the rotor. Any thoughts on that? Is the rotor bad?
BTW, the rotor is rusty.

The vibration through the stearing when comming to a stop could be the signs of a worn or warped rotor.

Could also be the wheel bearings!

Not sure on the wind noise could be low on ATF oil-power stearing oil. It could well be the car needs a ATF oil change.

grinding noise could well be a stone or any sort of debris caught between the rotor and brake pad.

Best off to have a Bmw workshop take a look.

E39's are very sensitive to wheels balance, etc. I had a steering wobble on mine between approx 50-70mph which was dealt with by having all 4 wheels rebalanced and an alighment done.

That said, others have had issues with suspension components and brakes which have caused wobbles too. They are often felt either when braking or through the car not just the steering wheel so your issue and the one I had dealt with (not completely cured but miles better) might be different.

Hope it is ok to link a thread from another forum. I thought this might be of use from a UK 5 forum:
