Has anyone with the E39 model upgraded the speakers to get a better sound than the standard set up and if so could you give some advice on what i should be looking for.
Thanks,Zorba. |

There are a lot of good options on the market. I would recommend just measuring the size of the ones that you currently have, and then looking for the best brand/model that is within the budget you have set aside for this project. Alternatively, you can take your car to a professional car audio installer, and ask them to make a recommendation. There are a lot of good options that are not too expensive.
Cheers, Daniel.

Hello Zorba, it is now a year later and I wonder if you already have the solution for your problem?
I also want to have something else to "hear" than the standard speakers. I also heard about a certain power tool within the system of the E39, which must be handled properly, otherwise it will be damaged. A new one will cost around EUR 600.00! Thanks in advance |

This may sound bad but I still havent got round to upgrading my speakers yet. I think I will go with the Rainbows as requested above as they seem to work well with the E39. Will update when I have the upgrade.

A company out if Italy called Hertz Audio & Video makes a 3 way system that fits the e39. I heard them about 2 months ago and they sound really clean. When I update my system later in summer, I will be putting in the 3 ways up front and their 2 ways in the rear.
