M5 alloy wheels

Hi there,

I'm thinking of getting some M5 alloy wheels for my 520i. Will they fit? And where could I get some second hand ones other than eBay? Cheers!

You should try to purchase original BMW M5 (e39) wheels, as they will work best and be the strongest. There are many reproduction wheels that look almost identical on eBay. Also, be careful to check the paint finish, since the original "chrome shadow" paint is very delicate. If you purchase a used set, make sure to check that all 4 wheels have colors that match, as if the previous owner had one of the wheels refinished, it will almost surely not match the other wheels.

The M5 (e39) wheels should fit your 520i (e39) without problems, but rubbing might occur since the M5 used different plastic wheel fender liners, which provided more clearance for the wheels. The M5 is lower than your 520i, so if your 520i is not lowered, then you might be fine unless you carry 4 adult passengers and lots of luggage.
