The Sway Bar Bracket is used to secure your BMW's sway bar and bushing onto your chassis. On the BMW 5-series (e39) that was manufactured from 1996 to 2003, the stock rear sway bar brackets are not strong enough, which causes them to break. Once they break your rear sway bar is no longer secured tightly to the rear sub-frame, which is not conducive to handling and could also be dangerous.
